Job Description
MECO Engineering Company is searching for an inspector for a Fiber Optics project in Kirksville, MO. The job could start at the end of November or sooner and we are looking to hire immediately. Below is a list of attributes for the position, with many of them being able to be taught on the job. This job is specifically for the listed project, but could lead to a full time position. The person selected will work under the direct supervision of a licensed professional engineer in our Kirksville, MO Office.

Attributes that are requirements of a candidate for telecom fiber work:
- Knowledge of Right of Ways/ Utility Easements
- Knowledge of HDD
- Ability to Confirm Construction was Built as planned
- Documenting any and all construction change requests
- On site in Kirksville
- Basic knowledge of fiber optics / site work
- Attention to details/Organized
Additional skills that aren’t required but would be a benefit:
- Understanding centralized architecture model of fiber distribution
- Understanding distributed architecture model of fiber distribution
- Knowledge of Fiber Splicing
- Knowledge of Fiber Ribbon and Individual fiber color recognition.
- Understanding of PON /Light splitting
- Google Earth/GIS/Civil 3d experience
