Presiding Commissioner Lyndon Bode and Associate Commissioners Willy Richmond and Randy Sparks, along with Miss Marion County and Marion County Coordinator Teya Stice officially opened the roadway by cutting the gold ribbon at Lyndon's count. Each of the Commissions and Teya spoke about the importance of the roadway and their involvement in the development and completion of this project, thanking all who participated in the project since 1995. This concrete roadway serves as an important north-south connector between Route W to the north and Paris Gravel Road to the south, with the I-72 interchange midway. MECO Engineering has been proud to have been a partner with the Marion County Commission through the planning, design and construction of this exciting project. The first two phases were constructed by Bross Construction Company of Hannibal, with the third phase constructed by Bleigh Construction of Hannibal, Missouri. As Commissioner Bode mentioned, the roadway was paid for by Marion County sales tax proceeds generated within the Hannibal/Marion County area and all project costs, including those for engineering design (MECO) and construction (Bross Construction and Bleigh Construction) were expended within the Hannibal/Marion County area.
